| In this short unit, students will practice their essay writing skills...using the basic parts of an organized argument (thesis, topic sentences, supporting details, transitions, etc), they will write a standard five paragraph essay in reaction to a non-fiction article about someone who has made a difference in the world. Students will walk through the idea phase, organization, rough draft, editing, and presentation stages of the writing process. The final draft of the essay will be worth 50 points and due on February 24th. |
